At Christ Church, each Sunday’s worship service follows the suggestions of the Lectionary for scripture readings. (A Lectionary is a calendar-based list of scripture readings, called “lections”, recommended for use in worship. The Revised Common Lectionary is built around the Church Year and is a cycle repeated every three years.) Each week’s lections include a reading from the Hebrew Bible, a Psalm, a reading from the Epistles, and a Gospel reading. An excellent way to prepare for Sunday worship is to read, reflect upon and pray about these selections at home.
